For Referring Veterinarians

For the colleague sending us a case.

The referring veterinarian is the person whose trust we have to earn before we ever see the patient. When you refer a case to Field & Stone, you are not just sending us a patient — you are extending us the relationship you've built with that family, and you are accountable to your client for what happens next. We take that seriously.

The case goes back to you. We see the patient, perform the workup or procedure, send you a written report the same day (for complex cases we call), and the patient returns to your GP practice for ongoing care. We do not solicit ongoing GP work from referred families. The relationship is yours.

How a Referral Works

Four steps.

01 /

Open the online referral form.

Fill in the practice and patient information below. The form lives at the bottom of this page or at the dedicated URL /referring-veterinarians.html#referral-form. We have it bookmarked-friendly so your front desk can use it directly.

02 /

Upload imaging, bloodwork, and chart notes.

The form accepts DICOM, PDF, and image uploads. If the files are very large, request a secure-transfer link by email at referrals@fieldandstone.vet and we will send one. Whatever you have, send it — we'd rather review too much than re-image.

03 /

We confirm appointment within one business day.

Target turnaround is one business day for confirmation, same-week for the actual consult on routine cases, same-day for urgent. If urgent, call the referral line directly at (626) 555-9181 from your office and we will triage immediately.

04 /

Written report back to you the same day.

After the specialist visit, the consulting DVM dictates a written report and we send it to you the same day. For complex cases we will call. The patient returns to your practice for ongoing care.
