Read full bio →Thirteen veterinarians under one roof in Pasadena. Four of them are board-certified — surgery, internal medicine, oncology. Seven are general practitioners. We see wellness patients by appointment and specialty referrals by referring-vet handoff. Everyone gets the same hospital.
The GP side of Field & Stone runs parallel to the specialty side — same building, same laboratory, same imaging, same protocols. Most clients see their general practitioner DVM for wellness and never meet a specialist. Some do. The handoff, when it happens, is across the hallway.
Seven DVMs cover general practice in 30-minute appointment slots from 7 AM to 8 PM weekdays and 8 AM to 5 PM Saturdays. Two of them are emergency-capable and cover same-day urgent care most weekdays — bloat, lacerations, foreign-body intake, acute decompensation. For overnight emergencies we refer to ACCESS Pasadena (Mission Hospital), two miles south of us, open 24/7.
Premium-tier general practice doesn't mean different medicine. It means longer appointments, current protocols, and a DVM who actually remembers your animal. The wellness exam is $185. The medicine is the same medicine you'd get at the best academic teaching hospital — performed by doctors who chose private practice on purpose.

Read full bio →$895 a year, flat, for one pet. Two in-person wellness exams, all routine bloodwork, all vaccines, twelve months of heartworm prevention, an annual 30-minute telehealth check-in at the six-month mark, prioritized scheduling, and a direct text-message line to your assigned DVM. Not for everyone. Not pet insurance. Not an upsell on surgery. Just the relationship you'd want with your animal's doctor — billed once, in full, every twelve months.
Read the math →Most of our specialty caseload arrives by referral. We treat the referring DVM as our actual customer — the person whose trust we have to earn before we ever see the patient. The online portal lets you upload imaging, bloodwork, and chart notes in one place. We confirm an appointment within one business day. For routine specialty referrals the target is a same-week consult; for urgent cases we'll see the patient the same day.
After the specialist visit, a written report goes back to the referring DVM the same day — for complex cases, we call. Each of our four specialists gives every referring DVM a direct cell-phone number for case discussion. The relationship between you and your client is yours; we don't solicit ongoing GP work from referred patients.
"I trained as a surgeon to do surgery — not to manage P&L for a regional corporate office. We opened Field & Stone in 2009 with a simple premise: the doctor decides how long the appointment takes. Seventeen years later, the doctor still decides."
